December 28 - Refreshing for Body and Spirit

I've been waking up at 3 a.m. the last few mornings with the idea that God wants to talk. So I asked Him a question about my dry skin. I have tried everything, yet I still struggle with itching and hives and extreme dryness. "Drink more water," was the quick answer. So, I rose and drank a couple glasses and today I am intentionally drinking much more than I normally do. I feel like God's message to me also meant to hydrate my heart more intentionally too. Water, rivers, and streams in the Bible are metaphors for the flow of Holy Spirit in our lives. Maybe my body is trying to tell my heart and spirit something. "Drink water!!!! Drink more of the Holy Spirit!!! He's ever present and His desire is to pour out all of himself into all of us. Drink!"
Ephesians 5:18 - ...be filled with the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
Psalm 46:4 - God has a constantly flowing river whose sparkling streams bring joy and delight to his people. His river flows right through the city of God Most High, into his holy dwelling places.

December 27 - See Your Child's Destiny!

For those who are parents, you will be able to think about and look upon your children today, and see more of how God has uniquely created them – mind, spirit, soul. No one has ever been made like them, with their special set of gifts. You are learning how to call those gifts out and declare their unique destiny. Call out their gold today!!!!

Psalm 139:13-15 - For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.

December 26 - A Sweet, Sweet Calling

As the New Year approaches, you are realizing you need to let go of some things in your past that hinder your future. You are not your past.  You are your destiny – with a calling so sweet and so important. 

Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

It's a Christmas Carol rich and resplendent with thought-provoking lyrics; and yet this one verse makes me awe at the brilliance of what God did.

Through this divine, miraculous birth of the child of our living God, Mary and the rest of humanity was given the gift of deliverance from dark to light, death to life, chains to freedom, grief to celebration, chaos to peace, sadness to joy, brokenness to wholeness, shame to acceptance, and loneliness to family. The great and amazing love of the One who created us all invaded history and changed life forever.

When Your Gift Opens Doors

I love the arts. I love artists! Some of my friends are painters, poets, and musicians. Yesterday I met a goldsmith. I love to write and take photos. Every day I encounter people who are pursuing a passion to create beauty. Where does this come from and why?

Our Creator made us in His image. We are made for creativity. Nothing can draw people into the awe of Creation and the heart of God like a beautiful song; a painting that brings hope and healing; a creative idea that boundlessly blesses a child with cancer; a story that lines up with a grieving heart and brings peace; a piece of jewelry that cheers with sunlight; a voice raised in praise that draws us to heaven; a cello piece that makes us weep.

What are you created for that can bless a hurting world? Today, will you please enter this holy place inside you and release your brilliance? Take a listen to these carpenters who bring heaven to earth in a freshly sheet-rocked garage. Merry Christmas!

December 6 - Big Changes Are Coming

Change is coming to your life. Are you ready? Change can be a bit scary because we are entering the unknown. We can make a plan; we can equip ourselves; we can take a risk; we can jump through hoops; we can think positive and move forward. But ultimately, it is God who helps us to make it happen. Listen for his voice.  It's the one that sounds like love.

Proverbs 16:9 - In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.

Proverbs 3:5 - Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make.

Thankful in Every Season

Though late fall may seem a bit drab compared to winter white or summer color, take a moment to find the beauty in its breeze, fragrance, quiet, peace. Every time of the year is its own part of creation – waiting for you to find it and be thankful.

Sometimes things aren't what they seem. Dig deeper and ask God for wisdom to understand.

A life that goes after dreams is a life of risk; of ups and downs; of three steps forward, one step back. But you would have it no other way, right? Go after those dreams knowing that the God who put them in your heart is well able to bring them to completion!

November 8 - You Are Growing In Wisdom!

In the past, you reacted with anger, bitterness, anxiety, fear, suspicion, doubt, and mistrust to things you felt were coming against you. But now you are learning to understand God is with you in these times and there is a higher wisdom that is teaching you how to respond in a different way that is much more powerful.

November 7 - Color Outside The Lines!

You have learned through life to color inside the lines. God is giving you permission to break the rules! Color outside the lines. Think outside the box. You will be surprised!

New health is overcoming something that has concerned you. Step into it today. Your body is such a holy abode for the One who loves you most!

November 5 - Target of Blessing!

Rise up. Rise up! You are not a target of doom, but a target of blessing! Love, joy, peace, and good surprises are aimed right at you today!

November 3 - It's All About His Goodness!

Some think that God our Father is angry with us and is a condemning, punishing God. But here is the truth. He is not angry with you. He is your biggest cheerleader. And though you mess up at times, he is there to pick you up and draw you back to His loving arms. Like a good dad corrects the child he loves, God's discipline is firm, yet kind. His love and goodness are what lead us to repentance.

Romans 2:4 - Or do you despise the riches of his goodness, forbearance, and long-suffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?

October 30 - Supernatural Peace

There is nothing like having peace. Peace is the sign you have made the right decision. Peace turns chaos into something that can be managed. Peace can rule over relationships causing union instead of division. Peace opens up space for negotiation. Peace drives a powerful vehicle that can take us places nothing or no one else is able to. Today, receive that peace. It is there if you ask for it.
John 14:27 - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

October 26 - Sincere Humility

When in the course of human events it becomes necessary to say “I’m sorry. I am better than that. I will do better”… then say it!!!!!

James 4:10 - Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

October 18 - Words of Life

Some tell others the world is going to hell in a hand basket and they speak from depression, hopelessness, and weakness. Others declare good things about the world and they speak from a spirit of hope, anticipation of good, and power. Our perception and our words make a difference. I want to be one that speaks life-giving words of good. Today, your thoughts and words will make a difference.

Proverbs 15:4 - The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.

October 17 - Out of the Mouths of Babes

God is speaking to you today through a child in your life. Listen.
