Poem 8 of 30 Poems by Christine Tracy

Glimpses

I have seen:

The glistening of fresh powder snow

in the sun rays of a bluebird sky.

I have seen:

The colors of Spring blanketing

the winter worn land.

I have seen:

A moonless summer night

lit by the colors of the Milky Way.

I have seen:

A fall of brilliant gold-covered mountains;

white-trunked aspen

shining like the sun.

These fresh air glimpses.

These things that

touch my heart and make it glad;

these beauties of nature that cannot be

adequately described, but only felt, smelled,

heard, and loved beyond words.

Could these be?

Could these be glimpses?

Glimpses of Heaven?

Evidences of a creative, joyful, God

who loves to love us through His Creation?

The Goodness of Love

I'm reflecting today on the goodness of my Papa God. He's kind, with a sense of humor, and astounding amount of grace. He sees me. He's for me. He cheers for me. He likes my ideas and he loves my dreams. I have his DNA. He loves others through me. He gives me favor, provides, and protects. He heals and lifts me up and he is my hope of life here and hereafter. I love him with all my heart. And the good ending is: he loves me more.

How precious is your unfailing love, O God! - Psalm 36:7

March 23 - The One Thing

Recently I was feeling overwhelmed. My brain was shorting out as I tried to remember all the little pieces of things I felt responsible for carrying out and completing.  I wrote them all down. When I finished, I realized there were too many for one little me. Exasperated, I prayed: "What am I to do? How did this happen? Why do I feel this way? What can I do?" And finally, "What is my purpose?"

In an instant, I sensed God speak: "You were created to be loved by Me and to let Me love others through you." Period. No more. No less.

Today, let's narrow our focus; shorten our lists; and build upon that for which we were created.

John 13:34 - "Love each other just as much as I have loved you."
