August 29 - Quiet in Spirit

Even on a busy workday, you are learning to be quiet in your spirit and mind and are beginning to hear more from your Father in Heaven.

Psalm 46:10 - "Be still, and know that I am God."

August 13 - Never Alone!

New to Denver after almost a lifetime in the quieter mountains, I am beginning to get accustomed to loud night noises. Sirens, distant trains, and unmuffled cars and motorcycles have been alarming me in the middle of the night. But I must dial down, mentally calm my nerves, and intentionally quiet myself. God wants you to remember to be still and know He is there.

Psalm 46:7,10 - The Mighty Lord of Angel-Armies is on our side! The God of Jacob fights for us! So, surrender! Stand Silent and stop your striving, and you will see that I am God! (The Passion Translation)

June 12 - Sweet Solitude

No matter where we live on earth, or how crowded or noisy or silent or isolated…there is a place we can go to be with God that is comforting, restful, full of life and surrounded by beauty. The eyes of your heart are more aware today.

Mark 1:35 - While it was still night, way before dawn, he got up and went out to a secluded spot and prayed.

Psalm 46:10 - "Be still, and know that I am God...."

January 3 - Interlude

Interlude. What a poetic word. I feel God is on this word today, asking us to take an interlude – a space in time, a moment in our day, to be with Him. Take a walk. Turn off the noise. Quiet your spirit. Just be.  He will fill that interlude with Himself in your life.

September 9 - A Greater Friendship

"Spend time with me," says the Lord. "Walk on a beach, crunch through some leaves, sit on a rock and feel my sun and smell my earth. Just be with me."
You will sense a greater friendship with God today.

Be still, and know that I am God. (Psalm 46:10)

“If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. - Matthew 6:30-33 (The Message Bible)
